01Zero Internet Permission Architecture

Calculator Vault is a steganographic privacy utility for Android. To outside observers, it looks and acts as an authentic arithmetic calculator. Entering your secret passcode opens an encrypted storage vault. It operates with zero internet permissions.

Zero android.permission.INTERNET in AndroidManifest.xml
Physically unable to make network calls or transmit data
Zero cloud backups, synchronization, or remote servers
Hardware-backed AES-256 encryption

02Absolute Inability to Transmit Data

Because Calculator Vault does not request nor possess Android network permissions, the operating system kernel physically prohibits the app from opening network sockets, making HTTP/HTTPS requests, or sending telemetry. Your vault files cannot physically escape your hardware.

03Hardware-Backed Encryption

All items placed inside the vault — photos, videos, notes, audio, and documents — are encrypted on-device with AES-256 in CBC mode with PKCS7 padding. Keys are derived using PBKDF2 with HMAC-SHA256 and salted. Without your secret PIN, raw vault bytes stored on disk are indecipherable noise.

04Sole Ownership and No Passcode Recovery

Because Mumline maintains zero servers and zero user telemetry, we cannot recover a lost passcode. Your secret PIN exists only in your memory and in on-device cryptographic verification. If you uninstall the application without unvaulting your files, the encrypted storage container is destroyed by the Android operating system.
